So the pair of them will quietly make their way through the park, past cheerful residents and buzzing attractions. Later, he'll probably feel bad about dragging Grune away from all this.]

Humming cheerfully, Grune puts away the food she's brought into his fridge, then...forgets her picnic basket in the kitchen and wanders over to knock at his apartment door.]

Martel was gone. She had been there for so long, and he had never...
...His bed will need replacement covers soon, but otherwise he thinks he's doing a fairly good job so far. Try again?]
no subject
Hmm.... Maybe he just didn't hear her. Or maybe he's on a little walk. Just to be sure, she knocks a little louder and calls:] Dhaos?
no subject
...Grune. Always with the worst timing. He really is not in the mood for this...
Dhaos pushes himself off the edge of his bed where he'd eventually collapsed and trudges to the door, pausing with his hand on the doorknob.
...He really is not in the mood for this, but he knows Grune will never go away until he answers. So, eventually, he'll slowly pull the door open.]

Hmm.... I thought it would be a nice thing to do.
[She doesn't usually make doughnuts, but for some reason, she just...felt like it.]

[Malnosso, can you hear him? Yeah, you can. It doesn't matter that he's only thinking, you seem to know exactly what he's thinking at any given time anyway.
Malnosso this is not funny and please stop.]

Here, you should have one!

...Dhaos is probably going to find a chocolate-glazed doughnut in there somewhere now.]
I... am not hungry. [He's not even trying to be creative with his excuses.] But I will eat them later. [Maybe.]

[Action, December 1]
When the dance ends, Grune almost doesn't notice. Her feet come to a stop, but she still looks up at him. One hand still rests on his shoulder and she doesn't let go of his hand with the other.
"Thank you," she says simply. "I'm glad we could dance together."
no subject
After a moment of hesitation, Dhaos takes Grune's hand-- the one he was already holding-- and kisses it, and then lowers his arms. "It has been an honor."
And he means that sincerely.
no subject
But soon she takes a step back, her hands first drifting to her side, then coming to rest in front of her. She clasps the hand he kissed in her other.
"Oh, that's a very kind thing to say."
no subject
"It is only the truth."

Action, June 5
It takes her some time to realize that this morning is different, and her mind chases down those differences only one at a time. Her bed doesn't feel like this. She isn't alone. There's someone asleep beside her, and it's....
She opens her eyes and sits up.
Dhaos is the one asleep beside her, his face soft with dreams and his curls spread out and tangled around him. She doesn't know why he's there, and she can't stop looking at him, and seeing him like this makes her heart beat so hard.
Why is he here? Why is he in her bed?
...But it isn't her bed. It's his.
And now she remembers.
They'd thought they were married again. Just like the last time. They had been happy together again and had loved each other again, but it hadn't been true.
And now she remembers more.
She can't stay here. The last time, Dhaos had been so upset. She can't let him find her here, or he'll be upset again. She won't let that happen, because--she loves him. And she never wants him to be sad.
With all the care she can give, she pulls back the sheets. She steps out of bed. And as softly as she possibly can, on bare feet, she begins walking to the door.]
no subject
Dhaos stirs, reaching for the empty space where Grune was just a few moments ago. He does not yet have the presence of mind to realize that anything besides the sudden change in temperature is wrong, but he has never been one to sleep very deeply.
He mumbles incoherently before Grune gets very far.]
no subject
For a moment, just a moment, she's still and listening to the sound of his voice.
Then she starts walking again, quicker than before.]
no subject
Dhaos is greeted by the sight of half a bed that has very obviously just been vacated, and even as slow as his mind is working right now, he still thinks to sit up and search for the missing occupant.
His eyes alight on Grune, and he stares.
What is...?]
